Andre Megerdichian was born in New York City and raised in Beirut, Athens, and Geneva. He has performed for over a decade with such companies and choreographers as the Jose Limon Dance Company, Janis Brenner and Dancers, The Mary Anthony Dance Theatre, Soundance Repertory Company, Reidel Dance Theatre, Daniel Charon, and Sean Curran. He was a principal dancer with Dance Kaleidoscope, under the artistic direction of David Hochoy (former rehearsal director of the Martha Graham Dance Company) for seven seasons. During his time in Indiana, Mr. Megerdichian was awarded the 2003 Creative Renewal Arts Fellowship by the Indianapolis Arts Council, for his sustained artistic contributions to the community.
In 1995 Mr. Megerdichian was invited to create an evening length work titled Moving Light, performed in the Statkino Theatre in Salzeburg, Austria, by the Painted Lights Dance Project. Since that time his choreography has been produced by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, California Institute of the Arts Sharon Disney Lund school of Dance, the Deadulus Project, Dance Kaleidoscope, the Anderson Young Ballet Theatre, Ball State University and by the University of Indianapolis.
Andre is a certified Yoga teacher as well as a Functional Strength and Conditioning Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He has served as adjunct faculty for the Limon Institute in New York City and taught at numerous universities and dance institutions throughout the country. He holds Bachelors of Fine Arts from Butler University in Indianapolis, and in 2009 he received a Masters Degree in choreography from the California Institute of the Arts.
