Helen Koules
Originally from La Jolla, California, Helen attended the University of California at San Diego where she graduated in 2000 with a B.A. in Biological Anthropology and with a minor in Dance. Helen has been a certified fitness trainer and nutritionist since 2006, and currently holds certifications from American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Council on Exercise (ACE) and is also a Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor. She has been involved with dance (primarily ballet) for 15 years and still considers it her first love! She recently received her Master’s degree in Integrative Health in 2010, with a focus on nutrition as medicine. Helen has worked with a variety of clients ranging from novice exercisers to post-rehabilitation patients and professional athletes. Currently, Helen’s education and research focuses on nutrition for dancers/athletes, yoga as a means for stress reduction and injury rehabilitation, strength training, weight loss, and general wellness.
In her spare time, Helen enjoys taking ballet and yoga classes and various forms of outdoor exercise. She enjoys all kinds of music, reading, and engaging in numerous fitness activities. Helen’s interests and research have significantly influenced her unique nutritional counseling approach and training style that challenges, educates, and inspires her clients.
