Roxane Carrasco



Roxane Carrasco is a proud member of Actors Equity Association, AFTRA, and SAG
and has over 25 years of experience as a professional Actress. She has performed all
over the world in many capacities and brings her vast knowledge of the Performing Arts
to APA as the new teacher for Musical Theater and Movement for the Actor.
For eight years Roxane was with the award winning Broadway show CHICAGO where
she had the distinction of playing every female role, with the exception of the role of
Roxie, her namesake, either on Broadway or on the First National Tour. Her favorite
roles with CHICAGO were as the Dance Captain to Ann Reinking on the National Tour,
and the lead role of VELMA KELLY at both the Shubert Theater and the Ambassador
Theater on Broadway. Other credits include the jobs of DANCE CAPTAIN and Asst
Dir for A CHORUS LINE European Tour, and many productions across Canada and the
USA; ANITA and CONSUELA on various productions of US and International Tours
of WEST SIDE STORY; the original SWING in THE WHO’S TOMMY at the La Jolla
Playhouse; ROSALI in REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES at the San Diego REP; a
recurring role on AS THE WORLD TURNS; LAW AND ORDER: SVU; many NYC /
BROADWAY events and talk shows as a singer/dancer and most recently the role of
GERTRUDIS in the Sundance Institute Theater Lab Workshop of the upcoming new
Broadway Musical LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE with music written by Lila
Downs.

As a Teaching Artist in the Performing Arts, Roxane has over 21 years experience.
Internationally, Roxane has taught Master Classes and Choreographed at the August
Everding Musikal Theater Akademie (University) in Munich, Germany, classes in
Spanish Dancing (Sevillanas) at the University of Granada, Spain, various Master Classes
in A CHORUS LINE all over Germany and Austria, and Master Classes in FOSSE
across Europe. In the USA, Roxane has given Master Classes, guest lectured, or taught
Musical Theater at NYU, University of the ARTS, Philadelphia, at REACT in Seattle,
INTAR Theater in NYC where she was also the Education Director, Broadway
Classroom, and Students LIVE on Broadway. Locally, Roxane taught Dance and
Choreographed many shows for Kellogg Elementary School of Creative and Performing
Arts, Mira Mesa High, Serra High, the La Jolla Playhouse for both their conservatory
program as well as professional productions, San Diego Junior Theater, San Diego
Unified School District, Chula Vista Unified School District, and has been a guest artist
at UCSD.

Roxane holds a B.A. in Theater from UCSD and is thrilled to be back in town
